Malvern College UK
Welcome to Malvern College Switzerland. I am delighted to be able to share with you a brief introduction to the first European school within the Malvern College family; a family which in the UK includes, Malvern College as well as prep schools for our younger pupils, The Downs Malvern and Abberley Hall. Overseas, the Malvern College family comprises schools in Egypt, Qingdao and Chengdu in mainland China as well as both a pre-school and a through school in Hong Kong. Each of the schools within the family has its own unique character and reflects its individual location but underpinning each is 155 years of history and tradition from one of the UK's leading independent schools.
Situated in the rural county of Worcestershire, nestled within the Malvern Hills, Malvern College has been providing a holistic, quality education to pupils from around the world since 1865. We are driven by our belief that our students should excel both academically and beyond the classroom, and we are proud that this core belief in developing well-rounded individuals has, through the years, helped us to nurture many leaders of industry, politics and the arts.
In 2012 we extended our model of education to China when Malvern College Qingdao first opened its doors, and, nine years later, the school has grown to almost 1000 pupils on roll. Overall, as the various schools within the family have continued to develop and thrive, we have the privilege of educating a total of over 4000 pupils at our schools around the world and we look forward to seeing Malvern College Switzerland add to this in the coming years.
As a full boarding school Malvern College Switzerland will provide a safe, stimulating and fulfilling environment in which pupils will be encouraged to develop into well-mannered, globally minded citizens, guided towards reaching their full potential by highly qualified and motivated teachers and pastoral staff, all of whom will help to ensure that the pupils are well prepared for a successful life beyond their time at school.
Being a part of Malvern College lays the foundation for a lifetime of support and fellowship. The Malvernian Society, operating from the campus in the UK, facilitates our alumni with access to a network of Old Malvernians with the aim of fostering social, sporting, cultural and business connections at all stages of life, leading to a heightened sense of community and belonging.
In recent years Malvern alumni have gone on to enjoy success at leading universities in the UK and around the world. Within the UK destinations have included Oxford, Cambridge, Exeter, LSE, Durham, Birmingham and Edinburgh to name but a few. The A-Level qualifications are widely recognised globally and are welcomed by admissions officers at universities in the USA, Australia and Europe.
Malvern College Switzerland is an exciting addition to our family of schools. The opportunities that it will offer to its students will be unique within the group and the envy of many. I am looking forward to sharing in the growth and development of the school and to welcoming its students to our family and following their progress as the leaders of tomorrow, as they contribute their stories as part of the next 155 years of Malvern College's development.
