A glimpse of life at Malvern College Switzerland
When pupils come to study at Malvern College Switzerland (MCS), they are enrolled in more than just our academic programmes. Malvernians take advantage of all that boarding school life has to offer, especially one that is located in such a unique place. At MCS, we strive to create an atmosphere where pupils can grow just as much outside of the classroom as they can inside.
SWISS CAMPUS
IN LEYSIN
Malvern College Switzerland's beautiful Alpine campus is a wonderful place to learn. There are well-equipped, en-suite rooms for 2-3 pupils, providing a comfortable and secure home away from home for your child. Rooms also boast spectacular Alpine views - the perfect, serene setting for quality learning.
Campus Overview
Malvern College Switzerland is nestled in the Swiss Alps in the village of Leysin, Switzerland. The campus is centrally positioned in the village and faces south, ensuring a steady stream of sunlight throughout the day.

The village of Leysin is in the administrative canton of Vaud. The village hosts a wide array of amenities that are available to residents of the village, including Malvernians. The village has a population of roughly 4000 with over 60% composed of foreign nationals and pupils. This composition fosters an international outlook and an excellent environment for academic success. There is respectful inter-college rivalry within the village, and a real sense of academic community.

Malvern College Switzerland has developed strong relationships with the village population as well as with the governing authorities. The College leadership intends to preserve its strong relationships with the community and in so doing enhance the academic and cultural experience for MCS pupils.

With the mountain lifts just a 3 minute drive or 10 minute walk from the campus, MCS is a haven for winter and summer sports enthusiasts.

The Campus
The Malvern College Switzerland campus comprises 3 different buildings: the Swiss Alpine Centre, the Villa, and the Clubhouse.

The Swiss Alpine Centre serves as the main base of operations for Malvern College Switzerland. This is where pupils spend the majority of their time as it includes the classrooms, common rooms, Boarding House, and most other amenities.

The Villa serves as the Admissions Office and welcome centre where parents can go upon arrival at school and talk to the Admissions Head by a cozy fire before starting their campus tour.

The Alpine Clubhouse is mainly an accommodation unit for teachers and visitors to the campus.

Facilities
The facilities at Malvern College Switzerland are superb and pupils are encouraged to make the most of what is on offer. There are many different common rooms, several games rooms, a computer lab, a yoga studio, a music room, a large auditorium, a gym, an arts studio, science laboratories, classrooms and a climbing wall.

These on-site facilities are supplemented by the facilities available in the village which include, amongst other things: a sports hall, gym, equestrian facilties, ski slopes and an ice rink.
Enrichment & Co-Curricular Programmes
MCS also offers a wide range of additional activities that enrich the educational experience for pupils. Pupils are also encouraged to run their own clubs and societies under the auspices of the school if they have particular interests that they would like to pursue. Some of the enrichment activities on offer include:

• Chess
• Theatre
• Music
• Coding
• Robotics
• Leadership
• Green Society
• Art and Design
• Entrepreneurship
• Model United Nations
Boarding House
Boys' and girls' dormitories are entirely separate and self-contained, kept apart in different wings of the Swiss Alpine Centre building.

Each room is en-suite with a mountain view. Pupils either sleep in rooms of 2 or 3, depending on preference, age, and availability.

Rooms are furnished to Malvern College standards providing pupils with a high-quality environment for learning and living. Provision is made for Malvernians to personalise their living space and make it their own.
Fortunate to live in Switzerland
Malvernians fortunate enough to be located in Leysin, a unique and polyglot Alpine village, have an array of opportunities at their fingertips.

The village is blessed with sports and activities for all seasons, giving pupils a chance to engage in a vast variety of experiences rarely available in one location.

Additionally, as all MCS pupils are members of a boarding school, pupils are able to dive deep into the world of different clubs and co-curricular activities. They can do this with their peers out of school hours, creating bonds and friendships that will follow them throughout their time at MCS and well into the future.
Culture at Malvern College Switzerland

Pastoral Care & Boarding
Your child is our priority. Every school in the Malvern family places the utmost importance on pupils' well-being and happiness. We want all our pupils to flourish, so the help and support we give is available 24-7, and is tailored to individual need - this is what we refer to as 'pastoral care'. It's central to all that we do.

At Malvern College Switzerland, all our staff understand the fundamental importance of pastoral care in a boarding school environment and are committed to ensuring that MCS pupils are safe, healthy, happy and secure.

As a boarding school, houseparents and boarding staff play the most significant supportive role in pupils' lives. Houseparents are supported by a team of Form Tutors, who meet with their pupils every day and ensure that they have what they need to succeed.

But as a small school, everyone knows everyone and all staff have pastoral responsibilities. Pupils know there is always someone they can turn to whether they need support or just want someone to talk to.
